New Food on Campus
It appears that the speculation and hope has paid off, and Chartwells has decided to listen to some of our students’ cries. That’s right, according to the Chartwells website the Cave will once again have a grill in it. Dubbed “Coyote Jack’s Grill” which will specialize in char-grilled and fried chicken and beef burgers. Chartwells says that it will have a “southwestern flair,” which undoubtably will be a nice change from the rotating pasta/quesedilla bar we used to have.
In addition to the grill being re-instated in the Cave, there appears to also be a new brand of pizza being made down stairs, known as Mama Leone’s. Whether or not there’ll be much of a difference is pretty unclear right now, though. The Bistro added a menu item as well, mini-burgers. While I’m sure many have been aquainted with both Wood-n-Tap and Sidewalk’s takes on the slider concept, we’ll see how the Bistro does as well.
Laundry Changes for the Better
Student Government Association President Nathan Kirschbaum sent a global e-mail outlining the changes to the laundry system for this year. I’ll be the first to say, things seem to be much better juding by what the e-mail said. Highlights include a text message being sent when laundry is finished, eliminating the possibility that someone should forget that laundry takes around 30 minuets, not 24 hours. More good news came in the form of an ongoing effort to make the laundry services on campus “greener,” helping to reduce the overall carbon footprint of the school.
All of this means a price increase, of course, but due to it being less than $0.25 the machines will no longer accept quarters, just Bantam Bucks.
Stepping out for a bit.
As I’ve mentioned various times throughout postings on Facebook and here, I’m a leader on the August Quest trip. What does this mean? It means I’m gone from today (August 3rd) until Sunday August 24th. When I say gone, I mean gone. No cell phone. No computer. No shower. Nothing.
Have no fear, however! Things will continue to work just swell around here. My good friend John Poleto, who has written various times here at TrinTalk has agreed to field the questions that come in via the contact form. In addition to John I have also found a second ACB moderator for the time that I’m gone, they might stay on board during the school year too, depending on what things are looking like. Please by kind for them.
Keep spreading the word about TrinTalk and the ACB while I’m gone, talk to you soon!
