Fox 61 News, the local Fox affiliate for the Hartford area, is reporting on the situation unfolding in between Summit St. and Zion St. in Hartford (just off the Trinity College campus by Jarvis/Seabury Halls). Fox notes that HPD has called in its SWAT unit and with the help of thermal imaging cameras and police dogs have been able to get a better idea of where the suspect currently is. They also state that he is a 21 year-old man from Connecticut, they also say that he threatened to kill himself prior to heading for Hartford.  From the article:

At 7:43 p.m. a shot was fired as a police dog headed toward someone in the woods who’d been spotted on a thermal imaging camera. After the shot was fired, police pulled back and took cover and called in the Hartford police Emergency Response Team and negotiators.
