I’ll repost from the ACB discussion I started last night.

After doing my best to think up interesting things to write about, find events, and other things to blog about, for the most part, it hasn’t worked well. I feel the ACB is established enough to provide real feedback on what people would like to see come from the TrinTalk Blog, so I’m opening it up to discussion.

What would you like to see the TrinTalk blog include/exclude. Features, article ideas, regular columns. Would you be willing to write about your topic? Etc.

I’d add to that list interviews, reports, polls, you get the idea. I’m looking for any and all feedback. Feel free to contact me via e-mail at admin@trintalk.com or via the comments here or the ACB.

After the recent racist comment that was posted on the ACB, I’ve been asked by a few people to make a few changes to the site. Having heard these complaints and suggestions, I thought it best to ask about a few of them. Your responses will have a real impact on future actions taken. As always if you have questions or a suggestion send an e-mail to admin@trintalk.com.

The first question is in regards to registration:

After a little while of downtime, we’re back online. During a WordPress (our blogging software) upgrade somehow the database that stores all of the posts, links, guts of the website got erased. When I tried to restore everything from a backup, it wouldn’t work. Finally after days of trial an error I got something to work and have salvaged all the old posts. I still have some loose ends to tie up but for the most part we’re back in action and should resume normal posting soon.

Would there be any interest in a TrinTalk t-shirt? I’m thinking of doing a small order on t-shirts that would look like the images below. They would run for about $15 each. I’d rather get a sense of whether or not people would be willing to buy one before just diving in and ordering a whole bunch, so if you’d be down let me know via the poll and in comments for this post.

I’m looking for a bit of help from all of you who read TrinTalk, essentially I’m insanely busy right now with a few different things, including school, and really am having a hard time thinking up good topics to write about here on the blog, let alone find upcoming activities to post.

• If you’re interested in writing something, please write it up and send it to me, I’ll ensure that you’re credited with the article and it goes to press as-is.
• If you have an upcoming event, etc. send it in with the group or person hosting it, the location, and the time and date and it will be posted to the main page whenever it’s received.
• If you have an idea for the site, send it in using the contact form.

Edits abound of course, but I’m thinking of implementing this as the new theme full-time, hoping to have it fully done by the end of the night.

What are your thoughts this time?

As I’ve mentioned various times throughout postings on Facebook and here, I’m a leader on the August Quest trip. What does this mean? It means I’m gone from today (August 3rd) until Sunday August 24th. When I say gone, I mean gone. No cell phone. No computer. No shower. Nothing.

Have no fear, however! Things will continue to work just swell around here. My good friend John Poleto, who has written various times here at TrinTalk has agreed to field the questions that come in via the contact form. In addition to John I have also found a second ACB moderator for the time that I’m gone, they might stay on board during the school year too, depending on what things are looking like. Please by kind for them.

Keep spreading the word about TrinTalk and the ACB while I’m gone, talk to you soon!

For those of you who have been following along with us for at least a day will notice that we’ve launched a very big redesign of the site. It’s a bit more simple, easier on the eyes, and helps us manage the content a lot better. It also allows a large amount of room to add features on later.

I’d love to get some feedback though, please feel free to comment, participate in the poll, or smash the redesign on the ACB.
